I'm passionate about living a healthy fulfilling life and love sharing tips and tools to give you inspiration and motivation to do the same.

I believe that our bodies want to be well, and that a way we can get there is by eating, moving, and thinking optimally....and of course laughing til it hurts along the way!

What’s my story? We all have one.

10 years ago I was living off of sugar and foods with low fat and low calorie labels. I had a face covered in blemishes, and was always complaining about headaches and feeling tired and emotional. I consumed any type of energy drink or bar I could get my hands on in order to get me through my days and workouts. I was trying to be healthy and fit, and I thought I was doing the right things. On the outside it looked like I was, but inside my body was far from it.

At age 20, I spent a year in and out of the emergency room and going from specialist to specialist to eventually learn that my severe abdominal pain was due to a condition called Interstitial Cystitis. I was told to avoid certain foods that aggravate the condition and this was the first time I was introduced to the idea that food is information that has a powerful effect on the body; that food does much more than just make us fat or skinny.

My curiosity to learn why I was experiencing these problems led me to reading books about health, nutrition, and psychology. My best friend had recently told me how she was able to manage her Crohn's disease without medication, and I was intrigued and inspired by this. I wondered if my chronic condition could heal without prescription medication as well. As it turns out, it could.

With the support of family, friends, and mentors, I began to change the way I lived my life. Eating whole nutritious foods changed a lot for me. I began to heal my body over time and my abdominal pain and symptoms disappeared. Things seemed to be going well for a few years, but eventually I hit a wall. After deciding to stop using hormonal birth control which I had been on for 12 years, I ran into new problems. I was exhausted, stressed out, anxious, my skin flared up again, and I had an irregular menstrual cycle. I didn't know it at the time, but they were all signs pointing to major hormonal imbalances. Typically the answer to this from conventional medicine is to go on birth control pills. I could have gone back on them, but I knew that it would just mask symptoms and wouldn't address the underlying problem. If I was going to have kids in a few years, I needed to address what was going on with my hormones.

Along my health journey I was introduced to functional lab testing. I was blown away when I was finally able to identify where there were imbalances and malfunction in my body that I wasn't able to address before. I discovered nutritional deficiencies, liver congestion resulting in poor detoxification, a dysbiosis in my digestive tract, and serious hormone imbalances. I was in my mid-twenties and had the hormones of a perimenopausal woman. It was shocking to me, but understanding the root causes of the symptoms I was experiencing really helped me with healing my body.

Eventually I reached a point where the days of going to my doctor feeling vulnerable and helpless were over, and my transformation made me want to share what I had learned to empower others. It inspired me to shift my career in the conventional health-care system and enroll at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a certified health coach. I then became certified as a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner to utilize functional lab testing. I also completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training to tie physical healing with mental and emotional healing.

I now help other women connect their ailments to their lifestyle and develop a deep understanding of their bodies. I am especially passionate about helping women who are having trouble with their menstrual cycles, having fertility issues, or are on a journey through pregnancy. I help them decipher the root cause of their hormone struggles, fertility issues, digestive issues, anxiety, and fatigue. I then teach them how to choose the right foods and lifestyle habits for their unique bodies in order to balance their hormones, support a healthy pregnancy, ease digestion, achieve an ideal weight, improve their mood, and most importantly, have the energy each day to do the things they love. Over time I developed my Know Your Body program which has been described as "life-changing" and "incredibly empowering". My unique approach to health has helped my clients become more intuitive, confident about their health choices, and feel at home in their bodies.

I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories. I then furthered my clinical studies by becoming a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner to use sophisticated laboratory testing to identify malfunction in the body and get to the root cause of health complaints.

My education has equipped me with extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in functional lab testing, holistic nutrition, and health coaching. Drawing on my expertise, I work with women to help make lifestyle changes and choose health-promoting ways that produce real and lasting results. You will develop a deeper understanding of food and lifestyle choices that work best for you, improving your health and happiness.

After determining what your unique body needs nutritionally, each session will leave you feeling inspired and motivated. We will talk about things beyond food, seeking to bring balance to important elements of your life such as love and relationships as well as career and physical activity. I will personally and carefully guide you to make simple, small changes that transform your life.
