10 years ago I was living off of sugar and packaged foods with low fat and low calorie labels, with a face covered in blemishes, complaining of migraines and moodswings. I was also consuming any type of energy drink or bar I could get my hands on in order to get me through my days and workouts. I was trying to be healthy and fit and thought I was doing the right things, but inside my body was far from it.

At age 20, I spent a year in and out of the emergency room and going from specialist to specialist to eventually learn that my severe abdominal pain was due to a condition called Interstitial Cystitis. I was told to avoid certain foods that aggravate the condition and this was the first time I was introduced to the idea that food is information that has a powerful effect on the body; that food does much more than just make us fat or skinny.

My curiosity to learn why I was experiencing these problems, led me to reading books about health, nutrition, and psychology. At the time I was working in Vancouver's largest hospital and I knew deep down that the answer to my chronic condition was not in a bottle of prescription medication. Despite what I was told, I believed my lifestyle got me there, and changing my lifestyle could get me out.

With the support of family, friends, and mentors, I began to change the way I lived my life. Initially, I experimented with a variety of dietary theories. Eating whole nutritious foods changed a lot for me. I began to heal my body over time, but eventually I hit a wall. My abdominal pain had disappeared, but I was often tired, stressed, anxious, and emotional.

Along my health journey I was introduced to functional lab testing. I was blown away when I was finally able to identify where there were imbalances and malfunction in my body that I wasn't able to address with food alone. I discovered I had adrenal dysfunction, liver congestion resulting in poor detoxification, an infection in my digestive tract, and had serious hormone imbalances after 12 years of birth control pills. Understanding the root causes of the symptoms I was experiencing really helped me with healing my body. I began to address all of my lifestyle habits in addition to my nutrition. Improving my sleep, relationships, exercising smarter, managing my stress, using a smart supplement protocol, and decreasing the toxicity in my environment all played important roles in improving my health.

Eventually I reached a point where the days of going to my doctor feeling vulnerable and helpless were over, and my transformation made me want to share what I had learned to empower others. It inspired me to enroll at The Institute for Integrative Nutrition to become a certified health coach. I then became certified as a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner to utilize functional lab testing to get to the root cause of complex health complaints. I also completed my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training to become a registered yoga teacher.

I now help other women connect their ailments to their lifestyle and develop a deep understanding of their bodies. I help them decipher the root cause of their digestive issues, cravings, anxiety, and fatigue. I then teach them how to choose the right foods and lifestyle habits for their unique bodies in order to balance their hormones, focus their minds, ease digestion, support an ideal weight, kick cravings and most importantly, have the energy each day to do the things they love.

My Know Your Body program has been described as "life-changing" and "incredibly empowering". My unique approach to health has helped my clients become more intuitive and feel at home in their bodies.

I graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where I learned innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 dietary theories. I then furthered my clinical studies by becoming a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner to use sophisticated laboratory testing to identify malfunction in the body and get to the root cause of complex health complaints. I am currently a member of the Association of FDN Professionals.

My education has equipped me with extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in functional lab testing, holistic nutrition, and health coaching. Drawing on my expertise, I work with clients like you to help make lifestyle changes and choose health-promoting ways that produce real and lasting results. You will develop a deeper understanding of food and lifestyle choices that work best for you, improving your energy, balance, health, and happiness.

Each session will leave you feeling inspired and motivated. We will talk about things beyond food, seeking to bring balance to important elements of your life such as love and relationships as well as career and fulfillment. I will personally and carefully guide you to make simple, small changes that transform your life.
